Chapter 6

After considering the information in chapter 6 of our book, I would rather teach in a classroom that had more digital technologies than not. Having more technologies available to my students would be beneficial to them and myself for several reasons. For instance, the internet is a vast base of endless knowledge and resources. So, why would I take that wealth of knowledge away from my students. The internet is out there, so let it be used. Having the appropriate technology to access the internet is key. I believe that keeping students engaged is crucial to learning. Sure, the internet has many distractions out there but those type of things can be filtered and monitored if the teacher knows how to do it. So, by utilizing the software and programs that the internet has to offer and other technologies have to offer, can keep my students engaged. There are also many valuable uses for communication that technology provides, such as taking quizzes, turning in assignments, keeping track of attendance, and keeping up with the grade book so that students know where they stand. So, overall I would rather teach in a classroom that is well equipped with digital technologies.
